Tavor is a bullpup assault rifle that was developed in Israel and introduced in the late 1990s. It is standard issue in some divisions of the Israeli military, and is sold around the world. The purpose of this research is to investigate and present Tavor’s class characteristics. Fifteen Tavor rifles were test fired; all marks on cartridge cases were documented, studied and their comparison value was assessed. The paper presents and discusses the differences and similarities between Tavor and M-16 class characteristics. The neck mark, a unique class characteristic of Tavor is described.
