AFTE Store - Japanese Type 99 Light Machine Gun

There are times when a firearms examiner may need to disassemble a case firearm as part of the examination process. In a recent case, our laboratory received a Japanese Type 99 light machine gun that appeared to be missing the firing pin. No disassembly guidance was available. This article describes disassembly of the Type 99 with some discussion of the gun as well.
