AFTE Store - Determining the Identifiability of the Winchester PDX1 410 Defender Shotshell Components to the Taurus Judge Revolver

Due to increasing sales of the Winchester PDX1 410 Defender shotshells, attributable in part to heightened public interest in home defense, it is likely that an examiner could encounter cases involving this type of ammunition and be asked to provide an analysis of the identifiability of this type of ammunition, the components thereof, and possibly to also identify the firearm from which it was fired. It is shown that reproducible individual markings imparted by the firearm can be found on this type of ammunition, or its components, through microscopic examination.
