A request was made for a distance determination in a homicide where a replica Civil War revolver was used. Test shots using the submitted 44 caliber black powder revolver were made at known distances. The resulting residue patterns were then compared to photos of the victim’s wounds. The projectile removed from the victim was also compared to tests fired from the revolver.
