It Is claimed that there are well over 1000 presentations and descriptions of the November 22, 1963 assassination of John F. Kennedy in the form of books, articles, movies, and television specials that appears since this historic and horrific crime. Only a disappointing few, very few, have been the result of the efforts of writers and researchers knowledgeable in the subjects of firearms identification, shooting scene reconstruction and the specific wound ballistic performance of the 6.5mm Carcano rifle and associated ammunition. Yet the JFK assassination was the ultimate exercise in these forensic specialties. This year is the 50th anniversary of the assassination. Myths, nonsensical, and absurd "theories" regarding the crime need to be addressed, and where appropriate, disproved with demonstrable facts. Forensic experts in the relevant fields need to be familiar with the facts and physical evidence and should be prepared to step forward and respond to past and experts for future technical inquiries, proposed research and evaluation of "new" theories regarding the November 22, 2963 events in Dallas. This special session will equip the attendees with many of the facts regarding the assassination of President Kennedy, the near-fatal wounding of Texas Governor John Connally, and the subsequent murder of Dallas Police Officer J.D. Tippit. This special session will conclude with a number of useful references and recommendations for further study of the events in Dallas on that terrible day in November of 1963.
