No Potential for Subclass Carryover
Tumbling – Rotating work pieces, usually castings or forgings, in a barrel partly filled with metal slugs or abrasives, to remove sand, scale, or fins. It may be done dry, or with an aqueous solution added to the contents of the barrel.
Due to the interaction between the work piece and abrasive material in a rotating barrel or drum, the potential for subclass carryover is reduced. Any defects created by the removal of metal by the abrasive material is random therefore by definition will create an individual pattern.
