A Brief History

The cases were made by Starline and loaded with Speer Gold Dot bullets by Master Cartridge Company of Villa Rica, GA. Production began in 7/02. The cartridge case is nickel finish, the primer is brass; no colored sealant.
It has been verified by Scott Doyle that the cartridges were made for KSP by Master Cartridge Company, and that they were never fully implemented, because KSP decided to go with a 40 caliber pistol. Their entire lot of caliber 45 Auto caliber cartridges were auctioned off by KSP, to various vendors, and are now available on the commercial market. The KSP currently uses 10mm cartridges with the KSP headstamp.

A Brief History
KTW stands for the initials of the last names of the three men who
came up with the round, Dr. Paul J. Kopsch, Dan Turcus, and Don Ward.
All three were from Lorain, OH, and in the late 1960's saw a need for
pistol ammunition that would enable police to engage suspects inside
motor vehicles; much conventional handgun ammunition, especially at
that time, would not penetrate the car's steel body. In 1968, they
created KTW, Inc., and began marketing the ammo, and by 1979 had sold
over 232,000 rounds. In 1980 they entered into a marketing agreement
with North American Ordnance Corp. (NAOC) to make and sell their
ammunition.
