Dithiooxamide has been used for some time for detecting trace copper in bullet impact sites. Because DTO’s colorometric response can be difficult to distinguish from its surroundings, 2-nitroso-1-naphthol offers a possible substitute. Based on the data collected, 2-NN has been developed.
