AFTE Store - .22 Caliber Hopkins & Allen Centerfire?

A case study in which a revolver was received which was found to have the caliber incorrectly marked on the firearm as ’22 Cal. Centre Fire’. Examination of the revolver revealed it to be a 32S&W caliber, Hopkins & Allen revolver. Further research showed that Hopkins & Allen did manufacture, both 22 caliber and 32S&W caliber revolvers. The most likely explanation was determined to be that the revolver was an early production run (serial number 20) and was simply incorrectly stamped and missed in quality inspection.
