AFTE Store - A Cane Gun?

This firearms oddity was turned over to the laboratory. It is a walking cane with curved head, made of extruded gun powder. It was produced at the Silver Springs, Maryland Experimental Munitions Plant during WWII. The 3/4″ diameter, 33″ long cane is made of one piece (5845.8 grains) of extruded gun powder which has seven holes that run its length. The powder was designed for us in sixteen inch rifles.
