AFTE Store - A Homemade Firearm and Unconventional Ammunition Used in a Suicide

Suicide using a firearm is not an unusual event. Suicide using a homemade firearm is uncommon. Suicide using a homemade firearm and unconventional ammunition is rare. This paper describes a suicide where a highly unconventional combination of firearm and ammunition was used, which motivated the author to research some of the issues arising. The suicide scene, the results of the autopsy, the examination and testing of the fatal firearm, the unconventional ammunition, and other aspects of the incident are outlined.
