A letter to the editor by Mr. Cockerham suggesting that the AFTE Journal establish a column devoted to discussion and information exchange for unsolved or interesting problems. Two problems encountered by Mr. Cockerham included: 1) small reference file on .45 caliber automatic cartridge case characteristics -is there a literature reference or member(s) of the association that may be helpful? 2) The barrel of a Strum Ruger .22 caliber automatic pistol is rifled with five lands and grooves and information indicates this firearm should have six – is this a modification, counterfeit, or some other explanation?
