AFTE Store - An Additional Method of Using the IBIS Algorithm for Comparison of Glock Type Cartridge Cases

Because of the internal strike of the ejector on cartridge cases of Glock type pistols there can be a loss of one-third of the information scanned into the IBIS Brasscatcher system. This loss prompted us to look for other areas to input. After reviewing the open crimes file of Glock type cartridge cases, we found a majority of them to contain firing pin hole drag marks (FPHD). These areas were scanned into the IBIS BulletProof section described as a single land engraving. Scores on cartridge case pairs were very high and could easily be discriminated from non-matches.
