AFTE Store - An Examination of the Application of the Conservative Criteria for Identification of Striated Toolmarks Using Bullets Fired from Ten Consecutively Rifled Barrels
The possibility of the reproduction of subclass characteristics between fired bullets is most likely to occur from barrels that are consecutively rifled. An evaluation of bullets fired from ten consecutively rifled barrels is made using a previously proposed conservative criteria for identification of striated toolmarks. The influence of any subclass characteristics on an identification and the validity of using the conservative criteria for identification as a criteria to determine an identification is examined.
