Any possibility of a “carry-over”, or reproduction of subclass characteristics is more likely to occur in the consecutively manufactured barrels. Two barrels consecutively manufactured using the gang broach method are examined for subclass characteristics, and according to the conservative criteria for identification of striated toolmarks. A review of some previous articles discussing the examination of fired bullets from consecutively rifles barrels is included.
