AFTE Store - Auto Ejecting Revolver

In a mutli-jurisdictional investigation into a series of murders, 22 caliber rim fire cartridges and fired cartridge cases were recovered at the crime scenes. This would possibly suggest a semi-automatic or mechanical-ejecting and loading type of mechanism. Not until the recovery of the murder weapon, a 22 caliber Rohm Revolver, with a defective loading gate, was the reason discovered. Due to the missing loading gate catch assembly, the loading gate would fall open. When a cartridge was discharged, recoil would cause a cartridge or fired cartridge case in the area of the open loading gate to be ejected.
