The author has reviewed two books by Robert H. Kennington which contain a wealth of information on the various marks left on 9mm and .380 Auto fired cartridge cases discharged in many different auto-loading firearms. Both texts are a technical guide for determining possible firearm types from fired cartridge case evidence. The information within the books is extremely detailed and a necessary technical resource for any jurisdiction investigating shooting crimes in these two calibres. Although The Matrix: 9mm has been in print for over ten years with The Matrix: 380 Auto a more recent publication, this review encompasses both texts due to their similar content.
