AFTE Store - Breechface Headstamp Impression

In a recent death investigation case, our laboratory received a request for the examination of a firearm, a fired cartridge case, live ammunition, and two lead fragments. The firearm, a JENNINGS BRYCO 380 caliber semi-automatic pistol, was to be examined for function, trigger pull, and comparison to the fired cartridge case found at the scene. As received, the weapon was missing the trigger bar and right grip, the slide had approximately one inch of rearward movement, and the observation of the breechface showed the negative impression of a fired cartridge casing.
