AFTE Store - Bullet Impact Damage and Trajectory Through Auto Glass
The appearance of the bullet hole and associated impact damage to automobile glass at three different angles was studied. When the glass was held perpendicular (0+ to the muzzle), the bullet holes appear circular and tend to elongate as the glass angle increases. The trajectory of most of the bullets were tracked from the muzzle, through the glass, to a witness panel. The amount of bullt deviation from it’s true flight path after going through different types of glass was found to be negligible. The approximate angle at which some projectiles struck the glass could be directly measured from the bullet’s damage.
