AFTE Store - Carrier Marks from a Maverick by Mossberg Model 88 Shotgun

Recently a Maverick model 88 was submitted to the author+s lab along with several fired and unfired shotgun shells. During the examination of submitted fired and unfired shotgun shells striated marks were observed on the case heads. These marks were of interest as they were located on the interior diameter of the headstamp, near the primer cup. After conducting several tests with the submitted shotgun it was determined that these marks were made by the carrier.
