AFTE Store - Case Report: The Reconstruction of a Double Homicide

This paper describes the reconstruction of events that occurred during the commission of a double homicide involving the use of a shotgun. A variety of evidence was examined to reconstruct the location and position of both of the victims and the suspect at the time of the shootings. Conclusions made during the reconstruction were based on the shotgun ejection pattern, muzzle distance determinations, body position based on pellet wound patterns, blood pattern interpretation, trajectory determinations, trace evidence, damage received by the shotgun, witness statements and pathologist’s report.
