AFTE Store - Change of Rifling Marks of the Bullets Fired from A Revolver
It is difficult to identify lead bullets fired through the same barrel as jacketed bullets. So the author’s considered that there might be a difference between the point of the bore which affect the rifling marks of a lead bullet and the point affecting that of a jacketed bullet. In this article the change of rifling marks on bullets fired from a Smith & Wesson model 10-5 chambered for 38 Special was studied. Lead and jacked bullets were fired and the differences between the rifling marks of the two types of bullets were examined in detail.
