AFTE Store - Comparison and Identification of Cartridge Casings: Test Fire versus Crime Scene

In this case the IBIS systems preliminary identified, through correlation in its database, a hit of two isolated cartridge cases from different scenes having occurred twelve years apart. The first casing is a 9mm Luger, Glock type recovered on November 13, 1996 from a murder scene. The second casing was a test fire from a Glock, 9mm Luger, model 19, recovered from a suspect on March 28, 2008. The first 10 cases that were correlated through the IBIS system were taken into consideration from a total of 877 samples.
