AFTE Store - Conversion of an AKS Semi-Automatic Rifle to Fire Full-Automatic

The purpose of this paper is to show how easily an AKS semi-automatic rifle can be converted to a fully automatic assault rifle. In a recent case, one of our local police agencies was confronted with an individual armed with several weapons. Of these weapons, two were converted AKS rifles. Although both rifles had been converted to fully automatic, only one was completely assembled and ready for use. This weapon was found to be capable of functioning in both semi-automatic and full-automatic modes of fire.
