AFTE Store - Differentiation of Fired Cartridge Cases from M-16 and Tavor Assault Rifles

The purpose of this article is to demonstrate a way in which the firearm examiner can differentiate between the class
characteristics of M-16 and Israeli Weapon Industries (IWI) Tavor assault rifles when
analyzing cartridge cases seized at crime scenes. The article concentrates on the extractor
marks and demonstrates the differences between the extractor marks that are produced by the
M-16 and the Tavor assault rifles.
