AFTE Store - Examination of a Converted Flare Gun

A flare gun was taken by police officers from a convicted felon. The flare gun was found to be a World War II era German flare gun known as a duv 42. It had been altered to chamber a 45-70 Government cartridge. The device was functional and met the definition of a firearm, thus illegal to possess by a convicted felon under state law.
