A standard protocol and set of conditions is described for collecting gunshot residue emitted from a discharged firearm. This method allows on to collect discharged residues at distances beyond those normally associated with distance determinations in shooting situations at different angles and conditions. This method allows the correlation of gunshot with witnesses statements, as to distance and conditions.
