Although airguns in general and big bore airguns have been very popular in Europe, a new surge in popularity of big bore airguns in the United States prompted this research paper. Big bore airguns have been used for centuries for warfare and hunting big game animals. Currently, they can be accurately and repeatedly fired up to 300 yards in favorable conditions. The history and development of pneumatic big bore airguns are explored from a forensic viewpoint in part one, and manufacturing with a basic study of two models is discussed in part two. In part one of this article, the history, power systems and muzzle and recoil energies were discussed. In the second part, basic research of how big bore airguns are manufactured in the United States is discussed and includes an initial forensic study of two popular American made Big Bore Airguns. Part Two concludes with examples of the most popular Big Bore airguns.
