AFTE Store - Hybrid Homemade Assault Rifle

This case report discusses the unusual construction of a homemade assault rifle in caliber 5.56x45mm. This weapon is a hybrid of M-16 and Kalashnikov mechanical parts. The combination of these two systems shows design and fabrication techniques not seen in previous submissions to this laboratory. Sophisticated technical knowledge is shown in being able to combine these two different operating systems. Examination of this type of evidence requires substantial mechanical knowledge and caution is advised when test firing such firearms.
