AFTE Store - Identification of Insulating Material Surrounding Wires

A case study involving the theft of a CB radio from a vehicle. The fracture match was accomplished by comparing wires which had apparently been pulled apart when the radio was stolen. The match was made, not on the outer sheath, but on the formed plastic insulating material inside the outer sheath. Air pockets formed during the manufacturing process facilitated the identification.
