AFTE Store - Identification of Penetrators in Armor-Piercing Ammunition

One of the difficulties of identifying and analyzing armor-piercing ammunition is that often the only piece of evidence recovered is the penetrator. This paper provides data and illustrations to enable an examiner to correctly identify the caliber and, potentially, the country of manufacture of a variety of penetrators from armor-piercing ammunition.
