Odd .38 caliber cartridges with headstamps W-W .38 Special and imprints on the casing of “CTG, DELAY MK-6 MOD-1 LOT 1-INM-0269” were received by the laboratory. Research discovered that they are used in the initiating of parachute deployment in emergency escapes from aircraft. The cartridges use a .75 second to a 3.0 second delay.
