AFTE Store - Large Caliber Projectile Recovery System

This article discusses a projectile recovery method for .50 caliber bullets. The military’s and civilian law-enforcement community’s need for capturing large caliber bullets is occasional but significant and, until recently, often met by ad-hoc construction, outdoors, of a makeshift method involving large mattresses. USACIL examiners have received firearms with high muzzle velocity and long range capability and have found a satisfactory recovery system, which will be discussed in this article.
