AFTE Store - Magazine Lip Marks on Consecutively Made Magazines

This is a study of lip marks from magazines consecutively manufactured by Ruger Firearms. This study seeks to determine whether these marks should be used solely as a basis for identification without taking into consideration other markings normally examined on cartridge cases. An additional step was conducted to compare the difference between the resolution of an older comparison scope to a modern comparison scope.
