AFTE Store - Manufacturing Marks on 12 Gauge Cartridges

Various marks may be left behind on cartridges during production due to the various processes involved such as extrustion, pressing and stamping. The two separate instances reported in this paper relate to 12 gauge cartridges that had marks present on the side of the head and on the battery cup that could be mistaken for a positive identification. The marks were in fact caused by the tools used in their manufacture.
