AFTE Store - Non-Firing Markings on Primers of Remington Cartridges

Centerfire cartridge cases fired in a revolver are identified mainly by means of breech face markings and firing pin indentation. In this paper, the misleading breech face markings observed on the primer of the Remington cartridge case are reported. The necessity of an examination of cartridges before firing is noted.
