Information received from the Montgomery County P.D., Maryland where it is recommended that all surgical tubing, tape, etc., put over the hammer spur of officer’s revolvers be removed. On all Colt revolvers tested, as well as some Smith & Wesson revolvers, this modification caused the hammer not to cock properly, and if it did cock, the hammer could be pushed off with slight pressure.
