AFTE Store - Nyclad Ammunition, A Case for Trace?

Nyclad ammunition can be problematic in traditional microscopic bullet comparisons due to the lack of unique microscopic detail transferred from the barrel to the nylon jacketing, damage to the jacketing, or separation of the nylon from the bullet core. If a weapon has been recovered and it is suspected that Nyclad ammunition has been discharged, a circumstantial case may be made by recovering trace materials from the weapon which can be used to associate that weapon with having discharged Nyclad ammunition.
