AFTE Store - Reprint: A Comparison or Three Individual Barrels Produced from one Button Rifled Barrel Blank

A “worst case” study of three barrels all cut from the same section of rifled tube. All barrels were fitted to the same Ruger .30 Carbine New Model Blackhawk revolver frame for testing and test-fired bullets were intercompared for uniqueness and carry over of marks. A side finding from the testing process includes the individuality of a revolver chamber that has been drilled and reamed. This article originally appeared in the AFTE Journal Vol. 17 3 July 1985.
