This article is a transcript originally published in the January-February 1931 issue of American Journal of Police Science, Volume II, Number 1. Calvin Goddard attempts to describe what Firearms Identification is and how it is affected at varying steps of evidence handling, collection and processing. Mr. Goddard also describes the expectations or events of Firearms Identification that occur at various times related to crime scene processing, the autopsy and the actual examination.
