The Case of the Unsafe Magazine Safety

A recent submission to the crime laboratory of a Bryco Arms, Jennings Nine caliber 9mm semiautomatic pistol for routine testing revealed an odd discovery. This weapon, a replacement of the Bryco Model 59, was touted as having a magazine safety. The magazine safety worked well until the weapon fired with the magazine removed and the magazine release button was depressed simultaneously.
