AFTE Store - The “Hammer – Murderer”

The article discusses investigative and forensic aspects of a case of multiple murder which happened in Germany in 1984. In the course of the investigations a total number of approximately 8000 police dty pistols were test fired and a positive match with the evidence from three crime scenes was found with the 3704th pistol. The case may serve as a proof for one of the most important presumptions of trace comparison : the individuality of firring marks.
