AFTE Store - The Restoration of an Obliterated Serial Number and Barcode Using Digital Photography and Adobe PhotoShop

Smith & Wesson uses laser-etched serial numbers and barcodes as serial number identifiers on their Sigma series pistols. Due to the nature of their application, traditional chemical restoration methods often yield poor results. Using digital photography and Adobe PhotoShop, the partially obliterated barcode was enhanced and restored such that it could be scanned and recovered using a barcode reader.
