AFTE Store - The Trigger Scan System-Microprocessor Technology Applied to Precision Trigger Pull Analysis
Traditional trigger pull analysis techniques have typically included the use of dead weights such as used in competitive shooting events and by gunsmiths in trigger pull modifications or testing. Adapted spring-type scales have also been commonly used. Both traditional techniques have yielded bracketed trigger pull values with arrange of 1/4 or 1/2 pound, according to the particular laboratory’s technical protocols. With the application of microprocessor technology and integral program logic to the sole purpose of trigger pull analyses, the Trigger Scan system can attain routine accuracy to the nearest .1 pound, up to 20 pounds, for handguns and long arms. For visualization and convenient analyses of test results, the system connects to a PC running Windows 3.1, Windows 95, or Windows NT and above in a standard serial port. The software produces results on a multi-color screen and can accommodate a data base of trigger pull “profiles” and print out results in color for use as case notes, and for use in the courtroom as demonstrative evidence.
