AFTE Store - Tool Marks- Striated vs. Impressed

A recent toolmark case reemphasized that an impressed mark can sometimes be confused with a series of striated markings. Testing showed the machined marks on a chisels surface were impressed onto a safe piece and not caused by striated markings normally associated with movement.
