AFTE Store - Toolmarks Derived from the Firing Mechanism Lever found in Fabrique National model HP-35 type Pistols

This study deals with toolmarks that have class and individual characteristics from the FN model HP-35 and its’ copies. These marks are created due to a contact between the tripping lever and the rear side of the cartridge case during firing. The examiner may use these marks as class characteristics, which are indicative of a certain model/type of pistol. These class marks may also contain within themselves individual marks that will help the examiner determine if the cartridge cases were indeed fired from a specific weapon and aid in ascertaining the type of weapon used.
