AFTE Store - Toolmarks Found and Identified on Cannabis Plant Stalk

Toolmarks examined by this laboratory are usually associated with marks made in a metal media. However, the Southern Illinois Forensic Science Centre was recently asked to evaluate a toolmark found on a cannabis stalk for possible identification. Depending on the type of tool submitted, identifiable marks could be left on certain woody surfaces and may be identified to a particular tool.
