AFTE Store - Unusual Interior Ballistic Phenomena

Two situations are presented in this article where bullets can emerge from a firearm with reduced diameters. It is theorized that these bullets “rattled” or “chattered” down the barrel which elongated them and reduced the diameter. An understanding and recognition of this phenomenon may spare other examiners an extensive search for a non-existent bullet.
