AFTE Store - War Zone Ballistic Evidence

This report includes information concerning the construction of projectiles, specifically in relation to different types of steel penetrators/cores. This is of benefit to investigators who encounter such items and will help them to recognize the different types that occur in areas or conflict. This study will assist military crime scene examiners in approaching evidence collection at scenes and post mortem examinations, with a visual confirmation of what they may encounter. Additionally, it will help them appreciate that what they do is worthwhile and will assist firearm and tool mark examiners with their examination of such evidence collected either from a war zone, or coming from areas of conflict (such as Iraq and Afghanistan).
